Starbucks (SBUX[1]) announced that it will now make its Braille gift cards a permanent offering after the success of the item two years ago

Consumerist reports that the company[2] is expanding its gift cards and menus in order to accommodate those with disabilities. Starbucks released a temporary Braille gift card on October 2011 in honor of disability employment awareness month. The coffee giant said that bling customers will now have permanent access to gift cards and menus with raised Braille lettering.

The company will also add large print and picture menus along with the Braille ones thanks to a customer’s request. A Starbucks customer wrote a letter to the company when the Braille gift cards were in stock saying that her blind daughter was now able to buy hot chocolate and requested that these gift cards become a permanent fixture.
