Verizon Tests Same-Day Delivery Service

Service is being tested in the Philadelphia area for a $20 fee

Verizon (VZ) is looking to compete with major retailers like Amazon (AMZN) by offering same-day delivery on its products.

PC Magazine reports that the electronics store is testing its same-day delivery initiative on Philadelphia before expanding to other markets such as New York, Dallas and Pittsburgh. Verizon is offering the service for a $20 fee and 10 a.m. limit for those looking to get an item by 7 p.m. in the Philadelphia area. These items can be ordered through the company’s website —

A spokesperson for the company said that Verizon offers this new service to those looking to replace their phones and accessories in a fast and convenient way. The company is also offering standard delivery as well as overnight and in-store pickup options.

Verizon is hoping that this service will help customers buy from the cellphone provider over large companies such as Amazon that offer one-day delivery.
