$1.1M in Gold Bars for in Toilet on Jet Airways Plane

As Jet Airways employees were cleaning a plane at Kalkota, they discovered a lot of gold in the toilet compartment.

BBC reports that 24 gold bars[1]Jet Airways[2] worth more than $1.1 million were found hidden in the plane at some point during the Jet Airways flight from Bangkok. The gold plates were hidden inside two bags and the gold is valued at between 70m and 90m rupees (up to $1.4 million). No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.

India is one of the largest consumers and importers of gold and the country recently hiked up duty on gold jewelry imports from 10% to 15%.
