Meet the LG G Flex Self-Healing Smartphone

The G Flex has the ability to heal small scratches that are inflicted on it

LG has released its G Flex smartphone, which is advertised as having a self-healing ability, and one YouTube user gave the phone a test run.

The YouTube user, Marques Brownlee, first tested the phone’s healing ability by scratching it with a set of keys. After a few minutes, Brownlee noted that the scratches were mostly gone. He then took the test one step further and scratched the phone with a knife. This time around, the phone did what Brownlee called a “half heal.” He noted that the scratch wasn’t completely gone, but that it was much less noticeable than when it was made.

Brownlee went on to explain that the phone heals better when put in a warm environment. He claims that this is why the phone heals as well as it does during LG’s promotional video, which takes place in a controlled environment with a temperature of 81 degrees Fahrenheit.

During Brownlee’s video, which can be watched below, he also tested the flex abilities of the LG G Flex. The G Flex is a curved phone with the ability to go completely flat. Brownlee showed this feature off by placing both hands on the phone and pushing down on it until it’s flat. After being flattened, the phone returned to its normal-curved shaped without suffering any damage.
