Campbell was attempting to remind the world of the tragic bombing of Pearl Harbor but the tweet backfired on the company, according to The Associated Press. Last Friday, Dec. 6 marked the tragedy’s anniversary and SpaghettiOs asked its followers to “take a moment to remember #PearlHarbor with [them].” However, the Campbell-owned brand included a cartoon with the tweet which looked like an O-shaped noodle with orange sneakers and one hand on his hip while he licked his lip.

Many Twitter users were outraged by the easygoing cartoon which gave the tragedy of Pearl Harbor a lighter tone than it deserves. Campbell apologized for its tweet and said that it was trying to respect the fallen ones.
