United Continental’s (UAL[1]) United Express locked a sleeping man in an empty plane[2] on Friday.

Tom Wagner woke up on a United Express plane after falling asleep during a flight. Wagner was seated by a window near the back of the plane. When the plane landed and everybody departed, Wagner remained sleeping. He woke up in a cold, dark plane and realized he had been left. When he tried to leave the plane, he noticed that he had been locked in, reports the Huffington Post.

“I called my girlfriend, and she thought I was crazy. I said, ‘Debbie I’m locked on the plane,” Wagner told the Huffington Post. “I said, ‘I’m telling you the truth. You better go somewhere and get me off this plane.”

United Express employees came to get Wagner out of the plane 30 minutes later, the Huffington Post notes.

The event resulted in Wagner missing his layover to Houston[3] and United Express refused to refund his ticket. Instead, the company put him up for a night in a hotel and gave him a $250 voucher.
