Egreetings Closing Website on Feb. 12, 2014

Site had been an Internet mainstay for 10 years

In a huge hit to party planners everywhere, Egreetings has announced its shuttering its website on Feb. 12.

egreetingsAfter more than 10 years of free e-cards that users were able to send out with all sorts of designs and looks for any event, Egreetings will be closed.

“We hate to say goodbye, but hope you’ll keep sharing the love and laughter with our family of brands that we’ve been so proud to be a part of,” reads part of a very small message posted on its website.

There was no reason given for why the site is shutting down, but likely has to do with increased competition with more and more websites offering free greeting cards.

While the site was one of a kind 10 years ago, sites from Hallmark to Jibjab to CrossCards (Christian greeting cards!) offers cards you are able to send online for free.
