The logo remains largely the same as the current one, but the sword and flag that flew behind the skull and crossbones has been removed. This supposed new helmet also has a chrome facemask, which is one of the features the new helmets are reported to have, reports The Orlando Sentinel.

The photo of what could possibly be the Buccaneers’ new helmet and logo was posted to both Twitter (TWTR) and Facebook by Tampa meteorologist Jim Van Fleet. The official unveiling of the new helmet and logo will take place at 8:00 p.m. tonight on NFL Network, The Orlando Sentinel notes.

Tonight’s unveiling of the Buccaneers’ new logo and helmets will mark the second time that the team has changed its logo. The first change came in 1997 when the team switched from its original logo of a pirate biting a sword to the current logo, reports WebProNews.
