American Eagle Outfitters Launches Matching Clothing Line for Dogs and Owners

American Eagle Outfitters[1]Dog owners who want their pooches to look as stylish as they do[2] can now get some help from American Eagle Outfitters (AEO[3]).

The trendy apparel retailer is launching American Beagle Outfitters, a line of clothing for dogs. The new line will allow dog owners to dress their pets in accessories that match American Eagle Outfitters clothing. To promote the new line, American Eagle Outfitters has produced a “dogumentary” showing how American Beagle Outfitters was conceived and developed[4].

American Eagle Outfitters says that the new doggy-apparel line will launch this spring. AEO is giving customers who sign up for the American Beagle Outfitters wait-list a 20% discount on purchases of American Eagle Outfitters items. AEO says that $1 from each order will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

A company officials says that the American Beagle Outtfitters line will “embody the optimistic, all-American spirit of our brand.”

American Eagle Outfitters stock rose fractionally in Monday morning trading. AEO stock has dropped about 30% over the past year.
