Girl Scout Cookie Snafu Costs Man Nearly $800

A collection agency sued the man for $740

A bizarre Girl Scout cookie incident is costing a Colorado man close to $800 due to what he believes to be a processing error with a check.

Tad Osborn bought a dozen of Girl Scout cookies for $42 a year ago and wrote a check to the organization, but they claimed that the check bounced. His bill went up to $82 after the check bounced, but he was never notified of it.

Osborn then called the local Girl Scout troop who directed him to an office in Denver. They told him that his account was marked as closed and the organization went on to hire a collection agency to sue the man for $739.95.

This Girl Scout cookie purchase has been frustrating for Osborn to say the least and he assures that he will only pay in cash from now on.
