T-Mobile (TMUS[1]) is looking to appeal to value-conscious customers with its Simple Starter plan.

T-Mobile[2]The value plan only costs $40 a month[3] and it offers unlimited talk, text and up to 500MB of 4G LTE data. The Simple Starter plan is launching on April 12 and it’s part of T-Mobile’s Un-carrier movement.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere said that Un-carrier is a move that makes mobile use more affordable for consumers. Additionally, there will be no data overages or hidden fees.

“We are freeing consumers from the predatory practices of traditional U.S. wireless companies,” he said. “And that includes these plans that start with a low price and a low data limit, but then hit you with insane fees if you send one too many emails.”

TMUS stock is up about 0.25% Wednesday afternoon.
