Ringling Bros. Circus Accident Injures 9 Performers

Eight acrobats and one dancer were injured during an accident at a Ringling Bros. Circus event on Sunday.

The Ringling Bros. Circus accident happened while eight female acrobats were hanging from their hair like a human chandelier. While hanging in the air, something went wrong and the women plummeted 25 to 40 feet and landed on a male dancer below, the Associated Press notes.

Other minor injuries were reported due to the accident, but the only serious injures came from those nine Ringling Bros. Circus performers. They were all hospitalized and none of them are in life-threatening condition. Two shows scheduled to take place later that day were cancelled, reports the Associated Press.

Eight of the performers involved in the Ringling Bros. Circus accident were still in the hospital as of Monday morning.

Video of the accident can be seen below.
