ChocoChicken, a chicken restaurant the infuses its fowl with chocolate, opened in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The L.A. restaurant is the first of three planned ChocoChicken locations. The other two will be located in Santa Monica, Calif., and New York. The restaurant has a full bar and serves sides including monkey bread and white-chocolate mashed potatoes. It also has desserts ranging from s’mores to ice cream, reports Nation’s Restaurant News.
“Chocolate isn’t there to make sweetness, it’s there to make more of a savory experience,” Adam Fleischman, one of ChocoChicken’s founders, told The Los Angeles Times. “It just adds a lot more complexity because a lot of fried chicken is bland because they don’t do much to the chicken, the flavor is all in the coating.”
The ChocoChicken restaurant in L.A. is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
