KFC Makes 3-Year-Old Leave Restaurant Over Dog Attack Scars

KFC has apologized and is investigating the incident

Social media erupted in fury after a little girl was reportedly booted from a YUM Brands (YUM) KFC restaurant because wounds she sustained in a dog attack were disturbing to other diners.

KFCThe little girl — who was attacked by three pit bulls several months back, leaving her with scars and the loss of vision in one eye — still uses a feeding tube for most food. However, during a stop at a Jackson, Miss., KFC her mother ordered some mashed potatoes and sweet tea for her. However, KFC store staff reportedly told them to leave because her appearance was upsetting other customers, CNN notes.

According to the girl’s mother, the incident caused her daughter to cry. After the mother posted her account of the incident on Facebook (FB), social media users rallied to her side.

KFC says it has launched an investigation of the incident and apologized to the girl and her family. KFC says it will make a donation of $30,000 to help pay for the girl’s medical treatment.

YUM stock fell slightly in Monday midday trading.
