According to CNET, the Google barge located off of Portland, Maine is heading for the scrap heap. A report made on Thursday claims that the barge has been sold to “an international barging company” that will be scrapping the ship.
It’s unknown exactly why the Google barge is being scrapped and what will happen to its twin located in Stockton, Calif. The barge project was rumored to be a place for the tech giant to show off new, exciting projects from Google X, which is responsible for Glass and the company’s self-driving cars, reports CNET.
The Google barge located on the West Coast was rumored to include three floors to hold visitors. These floors were rumored to be able to hold tech demonstrations as well as retail space. The barge was also supposed to include a party deck.
