Best Brands 2014: How 11 Top Financial Services Companies Rank

Interbrand released its annual list of the best brands in the world.

The consultancy has unveiled its 15th annual Best Global Brands Report.The 2014 best brands list includes a number of thriving financial services companies, which have experienced a steady growth recently.

Interbrand determines a company’s ranking based on three factors: financial performance, brand’s influence over customer choice and the strength the brand has to secure earnings for the company.

Here are the 11 top financial services companies this year including their overall ranking and their performance over the last year:

  • American Express (AXP) – #23, +11%
  • HSBC (HSBC) – #33, +8%
  • J.P. Morgan (JPM) – #35, +9%
  • Goldman Sachs (GS) – #47, +3%
  • Citi (C) – #48, +10%
  • AXA – #53, +14%
  • Allianz – #55, +15%
  • Morgan Stanley (MS) – #63, +11%
  • Visa (V) – #69, +10%
  • Santander – #75, +16%
  • MasterCard (MS) – #88, +13%

AXP stock is down 1.6% Tuesday afternoon and HSBC stock is down 2.41%. JPM is down 2.3%, GS is down 3%, C is down 2.8%, MS is down 3.5%, V is down 2.1% and MA is down 2.9%.
