Carnival (CCL) announced that it will debut its first commercial ever at next year’s Super Bowl.
The cruise company has four 60-second concepts that it’s sharing with the public for feedback. One of these videos will be the Carnival Super Bowl ad, airing Feb. 1.
The company will use the opportunity to advertise its brands, which include Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Seaborn, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises in Australia and the U.K. and Costa Cruise.
BBDO Atlanta — recently named Global Agency of the Year by Adweek — created the Carnival ads. The agency developed the videos alongside Wally Pfister, cinematographer with credits that include Transcendence, Inception and The Dark Knight.
“With this phase of the marketing initiative, we want to capture what is so special about cruising and sailing in the open sea,” said Arnold Donald, Carnival CEO.
CCL stock is down 0.03% Thursday afternoon.
