February Auto Sales 2015: Cars Suffer Winter Drought

Auto sales in February declined due to the cold weather.

February Auto SalesMany major companies are blaming harsh winter conditions for the car industry’s overall sales fall. February follows a streak of successful months of increased sales.

Ford (F), Toyota (TM), Honda (HMC) and Nissan all posted lower-than-expected sales growth for the month. General Motors (GM) posted better-than-expected sales thanks to a rise in truck sales.

Light vehicle transaction prices rose 4% to $33,299, compared to the year-ago period.
