Arianna Huffington Signs on for 4 More Years at Huffington Post

Arianna Huffington has signed on for 4 more years at the Huffington Post.

Arianna HuffingtonNewspaper owner AOL (NYSE:AOL) is being bought out by Verizon (NYSE:VZ), making it unclear whether or not Huffington was going to stay with the publication as chair, president and editor in chief.

Following meetings with AOL CEO Tim Armstrong and the Verizon leadership, Huffington ensured her plans are in line with the new ownership’s plans and she is staying on to lead the Huffington Post.

“I am convinced that we will have both the editorial independence and the additional resources that will allow HuffPost to lead the global media platform shift to mobile and video,” she wrote.

Huffington will be with the publication for at least 4 more years.

AOL stock is down 0.01% Thursday. VZ stock is up 0.99%.
