Google Fiber Expands to More Nashville Areas Than Planned

Google Fiber (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) will enjoy a larger expansion in Nashville than originally planned.

Google FiberThe high-speed, gigabit Internet service will now exist in most of Nashville’s satellite cities. This includes Forest Hills, Belle Meade, Oak Hill and Berry Hill.

Google Fiber began constructing its local fiber network recently. The move does not guarantee that all neighborhoods will have access to the service, but merely that they are eligible.

The company had originally excluded satellite cities but it did not explicitly mention that satellite cities would be left out.

Cities must be relatively dense in order to be eligible for Google Fiber.

GOOG stock is up 1.35% Thursday. GOOGL stock is up 1.39%
