Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc (NYSE:FDP) has issued a green apples recall.
The voluntary recall of Granny Smith green apples comes as a result of the product being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can be deadly.
The recall affects 695 boxes of Granny smith apples, each containing 8 fruits, along with 67 clear plastic bags with 6 apples each. They were distributed to Coremark and 7-Eleven in the Mountain States region.
States affected include Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. They were sold on Oct. 1-12, 2015.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
FDP stock is up 0.6% Thursday.
