Starbucks (SBUX) Gets Its First CTO

Starbucks (SBUX) has named Gerri Martin-Flickinger as its first chief technology officer.

She is moving with her family to the Seattle, Wash., area and will be a member of SBUX’s senior leadership team. Her role at the company will have her reporting to Starbucks president and chief operating officer Kevin Johnson.

The new Starbucks CTO has 30 years of experience when it comes to leading IT companies. She has served as CIO of VeriSign (VRSN) and CIO at Intel’s (INTC) McAfee Associates. She also held several roles at Chevron (CVX).

Martin-Flickinger most recent role before joining Starbucks was senior vice president and chief information officer at Adobe (ADBE). She helped transform the company into a cloud-based business. She is expected to help push technology forward at SBUX.
