Hilton Hotels said that the malware breach to its systems were at some of its point-of-sale terminals. The company is working with investigators and law enforcement on the matter. It has also strengthened its security system.
Hilton Hotels said that the malware breach specifically targeted credit card information. This includes names, card numbers, security numbers and expiration dates. It didn’t include private addresses or PINs.
Hilton Hotels said that the malware breach could have affected cards used at its locations from November 18, 2014 to December 5, 2014 and April 21, 2015 to July 27, 2015. It’s also offering a free year of credit monitoring to customers.
Starwood Hotels (HOT) also recently announced a data breach that affected 54 of its hotels.
