A man jumped from the deck of a Royal Caribbean (RCL) cruise ship on Friday.
The man jumped from the deck of Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas at around 1:00 a.m. in the morning. Crew members on the ship said the man intentionally jumped off of it. A life preserver was thrown after him and two search boats were sent out, reports NBC News.
The man still hasn’t been found and the U.S. Coast Guard has joined the search for him. He jumped off of the ship while it was roughly 80 nautical miles to the north of Mayaguana, NBC News notes.
The man that jumped from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship hasn’t been named, but he is reportedly from Brazil. Sources claim that the man jumped from the seventh deck of the ship in an attempt to reach the life boats on the sixth deck, reports CBS News.
