Overstock (NADSAQ:OSTK) will stop selling hoverboards as they pose a fire risk.
Federal safety regulators have launched an investigation regarding the futuristic devices inspired by Back to the Future. Some hoverboards have lit on fire while others have even exploded.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received “at least 10” reports of hoverboard fires. The agency is looking at the safety of the entire product line.
The CPSC is collecting samples of hoverboards and analyzing them at a national lab in suburban Washington, D.C.
OSTK stock is up 1.74% Thursday.
