Briggs & StrattonIts earnings were of 34 cents per share for the quarter, up nearly 31% from 26 cents compared to the prior-year quarter. The consensus estimate was of 18 cents per share.

On a reported basis, Briggs & Stratton posted earnings per share of 28 cents in the quarter, marking an increase from 15 cents recorded in the prior-year quarter.

Briggs & Stratton reported revenues of $413 million in the second quarter, down 7% year over year. Revenues were behind the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $434 million.

BGG stock is up 12.1% Thursday.
