Unnamed sources claim that Cedar Point started tearing down Shoot the Rapids on Tuesday. However, the company has refused to comment on the subject and instead just says its focused on constructing its new Valravn coaster, reports Sandusky Register.
The Shoot the Rapids water ride was added to Cedar Point in June 2010 by the same creator of the Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force. The ride was the subject of news in 2013 when it malfunctioned and injured seven people, Sandusky Register notes.
Tony Clark, Cedar Point’s Director of Communications, told the Detroit Free Press that the company would reveal more information concerning its 2016 plans during its Winter Chill Out event on Feb. 20, 2016.
FUN shares were up 2% as of Friday afternoon.
