Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (RCL) has had to cancel six scheduled cruises for its Empress of the Seas.
The Empress of the Seas is currently undergoing renovations to bring it up to date with other vessels owned by the company. Those renovations are taking longer than expected and Royal Caribbean had to cancel the cruises.
Passengers that were set to sail on one of the affected Empress of the Seas cruises can reschedule for a similar cruise on the Majesty of the Seas with $100 on-board credit, move their cruise to one of the Empress of the Seas’ later dates or get a refund. The affected cruise dates would’ve started on March 30th and April 4th, 7th, 11th, 16th and the 21st, reports USA Today.
Adam Goldstein, President of Royal Caribbean, said that he isn’t worried about the recent terror attack in Brussels hurting customers’ desire to travel. However, he did note that the company saw a small impact from the terrorist attacks in Paris.
RCL shares were down 2% as of Noon Wednesday.
