Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) caused a bit of a ruckus today with an April Fool’s Day prank claiming that Trader Joe’s is closing all of its stores.
The fake article published by Yahoo claimed that Trader Joe’s is planning to close all of its stores by 2017. The search engine company was quick to point out that the article wasn’t actually written by its staff and quickly deleted it.
Trader Joe’s Alison Mochizuki also commented on the April Fool’s Day prank. She said it has a good sense of humor, but that it wasn’t involved in the prank and didn’t want its customers mislead. Several people fooled by the prank took to social media to complain about the reported closings, reports Fox 13.
