McDonald’s Corporation (MCD) may be planning to introduce a healthier chicken nugget recipe.
The new chicken nuggets recipe is already being tested out by the company at 140 of its locations in Washington and Oregon. The nuggets no longer contain artificial preservatives and replace some ingredients with easier to understand options.
Sources claim that McDonald’s wants to introduce the new chicken nuggets recipe to the world in time for the 2016 Summer Olympics. It’s hoping to push them as a healthy option for kids as part of the Happy Meal, reports Crain’s Chicago Business.
McDonald’s has confirmed that the new chicken nuggets won’t have sodium phosphates and that they won’t be cooked in oil containing TBHQ.
