Caring.com has released its list of the worst places to live for seniors in 2017 and InvestorPlace is looking at the top five states from that list.
The list from the publication takes into account for several factors when determining how a state ranks on the list. This includes quality of life, living expenses, quality of healthcare and the quality of senior care.

Worst Places to Live for Seniors #5 — Wyoming
Seniors report they aren’t happy in the state. The cost of living is higher than the national median. The general health of seniors in the state also sits incredibly low on the list.
Worst Places to Live for Seniors #4 — North Dakota
North Dakota is expensive, and that’s really what got it this spot on the list. It performs well enough in the other categories.
Worst Places to Live for Seniors #3 — New York
Seniors living in New York aren’t very happy with the state and it only gets worse when you take into account for its high cost of living.
Worst Places to Live for Seniors #2 — Indiana
It won’t cost much for seniors to live in Indiana, but the state doesn’t have much in the way of positives either.
Worst Places to Live for Seniors #1 — West Virginia
There’s just not much of a reason t grow old in West Virginia if you can avoid it. The state performed poorly in most categories, with its only redeeming quality being its low cost of living.
