Sector Scan: Computer Stocks

In a bullish sector, NCR stands out

My Power Stocks system identifies the best candidates for option trading or short-term stock trading, and this week it’s showing overall strength in large and small computer stocks. In fact, one stock gave such a strong reading that I used my Power Options system to find an options trade with the highest mathematical probability of success.

Use the following information to help you with your own options or short-term stock trading program.

Powerhouse Stocks

These are the strongest stocks under surveillance with my Power Stocks system.

  • Nokia (NYSE:NOK)
  • NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR)

NCR gave such a strong signal that my  Power Options system picked up on it too with the following trade:

Buy NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) Apr. $27 Call options at $1.15 or lower, when the stock price is at $24.90. After entry, take profits if the stock price hits $27.20 or the option price reaches $2.2. Exit if the stock price closes below $23.80 or the option price falls to 80 cents.

Buy Watch

Be on the alert to buy these names on further strength.

  • Honeywell (NYSE:HON)
  • Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM)
  • Dell (NASDAQ:DELL)
  • Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO)

Emerging Stocks

This stock has been in an upward trend for over a week, and displays good upside characteristics relative to other stocks.

  • Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL)

Improving Stocks

These stocks are rising temporarily from downward trends, but they may be limited by upward resistance. Buyer beware.

  • 3M Co. (NYSE:MMM)
  • Xerox (NYSE:XRX)

These stocks are in downward trends. They’ve tried to rally up, but without much success.

  • Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)
