Jimmy Carter’s Grandson Plans Governor Run

by Karl Utermohlen | November 7, 2013 12:42 pm

Former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson has announced that he plans on running for office next year.

Wall Street Journal reports that Jason Carter[1] has his eyes set on the Democratic nomination for Georgia governor so he can overthrow current governor Nathan Deal. He said that the country “can’t afford four more years of an economy that’s not working for the middle class and an education system that’s underfunded.”

Carter is a Democratic state senator from the Atlanta area who’s hoping to overtake the current governor. Deal was a longtime congressman before being elected as governor in 2010.NewLetters[2]
