Mayor Refuses to Resign Over Crack Cocaine Video Scandal

Toronto Mayor Bob Ford is not planning on resigning anytime soon despite allegations of him smoking crack cocaine from a pipe.

ABC News reports that Toronto police recovered a video from a hard drive of Ford smoking crack on Thursday. The police chief said that he was disappointed after watching the video and that it’s been “consistent with what has been described in the media.” Despite these claims, the Mayor and his staff members refuse to acknowledge the existence of this video and Ford has not been charged with a crime.

After these allegations were first made there months ago, the police was finally able to recover the video of the Mayor smoking crack. An associate of the Mayor — Sandro Lisi — has long been linked to these allegations and he was arrested on Oct. 1 and charged with trafficking marijuana and conspiracy.
