GALLUP POLL: Uninsured Rate Hits Lowest Since 2008

The uninsured rate is down to 15.6%

New data from a Gallup poll that was collected from 43,562 Americans over the age of 18 has found that the uninsured rate is the lowest its been since 2008.

Data from the Gallup poll shows that the uninsured rate in America was down to 15.6% in the first quarter of 2014. This shows that there has been a late surge of people signing up for Obamacare as the uninsured rate decreased from 18% in late 2013 to the current 15.6%.

According to the Gallup poll, uninsured the rate for adults in the age groups of 18 to 25, 26 to 34 and 35 to 64 all fell by about two points. The uininsured rate fell the most among households that make less than $36,000 a year and blacks. Both of these groups saw the uninsured rate decrease by a little more than three points.

The Gallup poll data is good news that comes after the White House announced last week that more than 7 million people have signed up for Obamacare.
