Nelson Smith

Nelson Smith has always been an investor, first developing an interest in the subject while watching business television in the dot com boom of the late 1990s. He has a diverse portfolio featuring everything from real estate to private mortgages to, of course, stocks. He tends to prefer value stocks, but can be persuaded to pay a premium price for a great business.

Nelson’s work has appeared on many different websites, including Motley Fool Canada, Seeking Alpha, MSN Money, Yahoo Finance, and Financial Post, among others. When he’s not working, he can usually be found watching baseball, traveling, reading, or trying to (unsuccessfully) reason with his cat. He’s married and currently lives in rural Alberta, Canada.
