Angela Ahrendts, the retail vice president at Apple, told employees that the Apple Watch will be released in Spring 2015. In her quote to employees, she said that the Watch would be released after the Chinese New Year, reports Forbes.
This announcement means that the Apple Watch will likely be released sometime between February 19, the Chinese New Year, and June 21, the start of summer. This also rules out earlier rumors that claimed the new wearable device would be released around Valentine’s Day, Forbes notes.
The Apple Watch will come equipped with Apple Pay and will also be tied into the company’s Health app. Other features include syncing up with an iPhone to handle calls, emails and other notifications, reports Cnet.
AAPL sahres were up 1% as of Monday afternoon.
