The Pokemon Go Halloween event is coming sooner than you think.
Here are six things to know about it:
- Game creator Niantic announced that the event will be launched tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 20.
- A number of new monsters available to capture will be released into the world starting then. Several new characters will be available, including Sableye, Banette, as well as a “few other ghost-type pokemon,” according to Niantic.
- The Pokemon Go Halloween event will run until Nov. 2, and it will include a number of other new additions.
- Unsurprisingly, a plethora of ghost pokemon will appear with more frequency, including Gastly. You’ll be able to catch a Pikachu while wearing a witch’s hat.
- You will also have the opportunity to get a Mimkyu-themed hat to dress up your trainer
- Niantic added that more additions to the game will come in December, including new creatures from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.
The announcement for the Pokemon Go event comes about a year after the first of its in-game events initiated with the first Halloween celebration, followed by the expansion of augmented reality in gaming and various other segments of the tech industry.
Niantic added that a number of other features are still in the works as there are a number of things that they want to add such as player-versus-player and trading.
