Amazon (AMZN) has patented a new system that will pre-ship packages before a customer orders them.

Amazon’s new service is called “anticipatory shipping.” The service will work by tracking various points of data to determine how likely it is that a customer will buy an item. The packages will then be shipped to hubs that are closer to the customers that is considering the purchase, reports Digital Trends.

Amazon is also considering using the anticipatory shipping system to send packages without full addresses on FedEx (FDX) and United Parcel Service (UPS) trucks. If the order is made while the trucks are in transit, then drivers will be given a full address to deliver the package to. Amazon is considering reducing prices or giving items away if they are accidentally delivered before they are ordered, Digital Trends notes.

The anticipatory shipping patent isn’t the only way Amazon has been looking to improve its shipping methods. The company also announced near the end of last year that it’s working on a shipping program using unmanned drones.

AMZN stock was up 1% as of Tuesday morning.
