GOOG: Google Expands Same-Day Shopping to Two Cities

Google (GOOG) is offering same-day shopping options with delivery to residents of New York and Los Angeles.

GoogleThe company is sending trucks throughout the cities and delivering products through Google Shopping Express. Manhattan and LA citizens can order any number of items online with no minimum and get it delivered to their homes later that day.

Google is also offering six months of free, unlimited delivery to those who sign up for the service as well as a $10 spending bonus. Consumers have the choice of paying $4.99 per order regardless of how many items they buy if they’re not looking to sign up for the service.

Amazon (AMZN) is testing a similar same-day shopping service.

GOOG stock is down 0.2% on Monday. AMZN stock is up about 0.4%.
