Here are your Apple rumors and AAPL news items for today:

aapl-appleMini: A recently updated Apple (AAPL) support page briefly referenced a possible update to the Mac mini line, reports MacRumors. The Mac mini listing included a possible mid-2014 release, but no specific date was included. There hasn’t been much mentioned about an update to the Mac mini line and this listing could have just been a mistake. This same listing also included mentions of the low-cost 2014 iMac and the 2014 MacBook Airs. The Mac Mini line hasn’t been updated since October of 2012.

Beats: Sources close to Apple’s acquisition of Beats claim that it has been thinning the ranks at the headphone company, 9to5Mac notes. This source claims that those with redundant positions have been alerted that they won’t have a place at Apple after the transfer is complete. This doesn’t include developers and other creative individuals, who have reportedly been offered positions with the tech giant.

TV: New rumors claim that the Apple TV redesign won’t see the light of day until 2015. According to AppleInsider, these rumors state that the set-top box is being delayed by cable companies that aren’t keeping up to speed with the tech giant’s plans. Cable companies are claiming the exact opposite and are saying that Apple has bit off more than it can chew. The merger between Comcast (CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (TWC) and rights issues have also been cited as possible reasons for the delay.
