apple-aaplEvent: Apple (AAPL) is set to hold an major event on September 9, MacRumors notes. The exact details of the event haven’t been revealed, but it’s rumored to be a reveal for the iPhone 6. The event will likely show off the 4.7-inch version of the iPhone 6. The 5.5-inch version of Apple’s next-generation iPhone could also make an appearance at the event, but rumored production delays means it might not be revealed at the September 9 event.

Patent: Apple has been awarded a patent for a magnetic power that could potentially power wireless mice and keyboards, reports AppleInsider. The wireless keyboard and mice charging is U.S. Patent No. 8,796,885 and is titled “Combining Power from Multiple Resonance Magnetic Receivers in Resonance Magnetic Power System.” The device could work by using wireless near-field magnetic resonance to send power to nearby devices.

Chips: A new rumor claims that Apple has chosen Samsung (SSNLF) to be the supplier of chips for its iPhone 7. Samsung was the previous maker of chips for Apple, the A4 through the A7, but Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) took over with the A8 chip.The rumor comes after Samsung has been rumored to start work on 14 nanometer chips, which is what Apple is rumored to be using in the iPhone 7.
