Monday Apple Rumors: iPhone 6 May Not Use Reversible USB Cable

This rumor claims that the manufacturer of the reversible Lightning cable has sent samples to the tech company, but that it hasn’t requested any orders for them. However, these rumors also claim that the iPhone 6 could possibly include a power adapter with twice the capacity of current power adapters. These adapters are likely needed for the high power consumption of the iPhone 6.

iPhone: While Apple hasn’t even officially announced the iPhone 6 yet, iPhone 6s rumors are already popping up, BGR notes. These new rumors claim that the iPhone 6s will use an A9 mobile processor provided by Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM). The A9 chip that may be used in the iPhone 6s is rumored to start production during the first quarter of 2015. The A9 processor is also rumored to be what will power the 5.5-inch version of Apple’s iPhone 6.

Cost: RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani has noted that Apple’s cost for manufacturing and components has reached its highest levels yet, reports AppleInsider. Daryanani reports that the tech company spent roughly 18% more on manufacturing and component cost during the June quarter of 2014 than what it had the same time last year. The company also spent $1.6 billion, a new record for it, on Research & Development.
