High-definition audio was a feature wanted in the iPhone 6 line by some, but it wasn’t announced by Tim Cook at the devices’ reveal event. After several tests were performed on the headphone jacks on the smartphones, it was found that they don’t support HD audio. However, the hardware of the device can support HD audio, which means it could be coming in a future software update.

Battery: A new feature that comes with Apple’s iOS 8 tells users what apps are draining their batteries, AppleInsider notes. The feature can be reached by going to Settings, General, Usage, Battery Usage. The menu will then show users a breakdown in percentages of what apps have been draining the most battery life from their device. Users have the option of looking at breakdowns of battery consumption from the last 24-hour period and from a seven-day period. This will be useful for users that are looking to keep their devices charged for longer periods of time.

HealthKit: Now that Apple has released the iOS 8.0.2 update, more apps with HealthKit functionality are showing up, reports 9to5Mac. HealthKit apps were unable to launch with iOS 8 when it was released, but were planned to be available for in the iOS 8.0.1 update. However, the update disrupted cellular service and caused Touch ID issues in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Now that these issues have been moved past, Apple is allowing apps with HealthKit integration onto the App Store.
