Security: Apple is looking at different ways to use its Touch ID sensor to increase security in its devices, AppleInsider notes. One way that Touch ID could be used to provide additional security to a device is with the combination of finger movements. An example of this would be users turning their finger on the Touch ID button to open a digital combination lock on the device. Another method that could be used would be similar to swipe locks, but users would make the swiping motions across the Touch ID sensor.

Memo: The official holiday memo from Tim Cook to Apple employees has been revealed, reports iClarified. Highlights from the memo include Cook telling employees that the company raised $20 million during its RED promotion for AIDS research. This brings the total raised by the company over the years up to $100 million. The memo also mentioned the company’s purchase of Beats, the 30th anniversary of Mac and efforts in renewable energy. Cook finished the memo off by wishing his employees a wonderful break with their loved ones over the holidays.
