Sony (SNE) is releasing a Walkman that is quite expensive.
The device is a $1,120 MP3 player that offers super high-resolution sound on all your favorite music. The Walkman NW-ZX2 is “for on-the-move music lovers who value the difference,” according to the Sony blog.
Among the Walkman’s features are a 60-hour battery life, 128 GB of storage and high quality wireless listening via Bluetooth. The device may be pricey but it’s unlike any Walkman we’ve seen before.
The Walkman can convert analogue sound to digital formats without altering the purity of the original sound. “Hi-Res Audio retains far more detail during the analogue-to-digital conversion process, for a more authentic, emotionally involving musical experience.”
The design is not too shabby either.
SNE stock is down 0.05% Tuesday afternoon.
