Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) has released an update for its Mentions app.
The update to the Facebook Mentions app allows celebrities and other public figures that use it to share content on Instagram and Twitter (NYSE:TWTR). The update allows for posts, images and videos to be shared to the other social media platforms.
Celebrities also have access to another new feature that was included in the Facebook Mentions update. This feature allows users to add topics to their Mentions Feed. These topics can be things like name and hashtags. Users will be updated when those topics are mentioned through the app.
The Facebook Mentions app is designed to help celebrities connect with their fans. Several celebrities use it as a way to share behind-the-scenes and other information from their life with fans. A verified Facebook page is required to use the app.
The Facebook mentions app is only available on Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices.
