A Reddit user shared information about the new Magic Keyboard that they claim was shown off at their university in China. The user claims it was shown off by Foxconn alongside the keyboard module for the upcoming MacBook Pro update. The Magic Keyboard will reportedly have the ability to change keys and color depending on what program a person is using. The person also claims that startup Sonder is working with AAPL on the project and that it will come out in 2018.

R&D Center: Apple is planning to open a second R&D center in China, Reuters notes. The tech company is planning to open an R&D center in Shenzhen. The decision to open a second R&D center in China comes before it has even finished work to open its first R&D center in the country. AAPL says the goal of the new facility is to allow it to operate closer to its manufacturers. It is possible that the move will also help it increase connections in the country, which has seen sales of its devices slow recently.

WatchOS 3.1 Beta: Apple has released its third watchOS 3.1 beta to developers, reports AppleInsider. The build for the new beta is “14S471.” Developers that have been testing the watchOS 3.1 betas claim that it has improved the battery life of their devices. There is no public version of the watchOS 3.1 available. Developers can download the new beta via the Watch app on a connected iPhone.
