Wednesday Apple Rumors: Flyer Shows Possible Release Date of iPhone 6

OS X Yosemite goes into open beta tomorrow

Here are your Apple rumors and AAPL news items for today:

aapl-appleFlyer: A leaked image of a flyer that is claimed to be for Apple’s (AAPL) release of the iPhone 6 has shown up in China, International Business Times notes. The flyer lists the Chinese release date for the iPhone 6 as September 19. It includes an image of both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch version of the smartphone. The flyer also lists prices for the devices. The 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is listed for roughly $900 and the 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6 is listed for around $1,000.

Yosemite: The open beta for Apple’s upcoming OS X Yosemite is scheduled to be released tomorrow, July 24, reports The Loop. The beta being released tomorrow is the same version that was given to developers on Monday. The difference between the two is that the developer beta will be getting updates more often than what the public beta gets. Those who test out the OS X Yosemite public beta will also note that several features are missing. This is due to the integration that the operating system has with the upcoming iOS 8, which is also currently in beta.

R&D: Apple released its second quarter earnings report for 2014 on Tuesday. In the report, the company noted that it has spent $1.6 billion on research and development (R&D), AppleInsider notes. This is a $425 million increase in R&D cost when compared to the same time last year. This suggest that Apple is currently working on and developing several products. These new products could be the upcoming iPhone 6 and the potential iWatch. However, it also means that Apple may have more goodies in store for its fans that have yet to revealed.
