Monday Apple Rumors: 2017 iPhone May Feature OLED Display

Leading the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is news of an OLED display coming to the next iPhone. Today, we’ll look at that and other Apple Rumors for Wednesday.

Apple Rumors, OLED Display, 2017 iPhone, AAPLOLED DisplaySharp Corporation (ADR) (OTCMKTS:SHCAYCEO Tai Jeng-wu claims the next iPhone will have and OLED display, reports AppleInsider. He reportedly told students at Tatung University on Saturday that Apple is “switching from LTPS (low-temperature poly-silicon) to OLED panels.” He said that he didn’t know if the new OLED iPhone “will be a hit,” but that the tech company has to continue to innovate.

iOS 10.1.1 Release: Apple has finally released  iOS 10.1.1 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, 9to5Mac notes. The new update for iOS 10 fixes several bugs that were present in the previous version of the mobile operating system. One of the major bug fixes in this update has to do with the Health app. This issue made it so that users were unable to see some of their data inside the app. The new update can be downloaded via Software Update and is only a few MB in size.

Wireless Charging iPhone: A new rumor claims that Apple will be adding wireless charging to its next iPhone, reports BGR. According to this rumor, AAPL supplier Foxconn has started testing wireless charging modules for mobile devices. This rumor claims that the wireless charging modules are going to show up in at least some of the tech company’s smartphones coming out next year. It is possible that this feature will be limited to the larger 2017 iPhone, much like how the iPhone 7 Plus has the dual-camera system that the normal iPhone 7 is lacking.
